The origin of International Consumer Rights Day
March 15 is the International Consumer Rights Day, which was established by the International Consumers Union in 1983, with the aim of expanding the publicity of consumer rights protection and making it pay attention to it around the world, so as to promote cooperation and exchanges between national and regional consumer organizations and better protect consumer rights and interests in the international context.

Fundamental rights to consumer protection
According to the Law on the Protection of Consumer Rights and Interests, the Product Quality Law, the General Principles of the Civil Law and other legal provisions, consumers mainly enjoy the following rights when purchasing goods or receiving services: the right to safety, the right to know, the right to make independent choices, the right to fair trade, the right to compensation, the right to protect their legitimate rights and interests, the right to obtain knowledge, the right to personal dignity and the right to supervise and report.

How consumers can protect their rights
1. Negotiate a settlement with the operator;
2. Requesting mediation by consumer associations or other mediation organizations established in accordance with law;
3. Lodge a complaint with the relevant administrative department;
4. Submit to an arbitration institution for arbitration in accordance with the arbitration agreement reached with the operator;
5. File a lawsuit with the people's court.
