01 国庆节的由来 | Origin of National Day

国庆节是由一个国家制定的用来纪念国家本身的法定假日。中国古代把皇帝即位、诞辰称为“国庆”。“国庆”一词，本指国家喜庆之事，最早见于西晋。

现在中国国庆节特指中华人民共和国正式成立的纪念日10月1日。

National Day is a legal holiday set by a country to honor the country itself. In ancient China, the emperor's accession to the throne and his birthday were called "National Day". The term "National Day" originally referred to national celebrations and was first used in the Western Jin Dynasty.

 Nowadays, China's National Day refers to October 1, the anniversary of the official founding of the People's Republic of China.
